From the President’s Corner – April 2020

I would like to start my letter by extending a sincere thank you to all essential workers, healthcare professionals, and government leaders who are putting others before themselves during this difficult time. Similarly, I hope this message finds you and your family safe and healthy.

This month’s newsletter finds us in a place that no one could have predicted at the start of 2020. The Global Coronavirus Pandemic has changed every aspect of our lives. In fact, change seems to be the only constant these days. At TDC we knew 2020 would be a time of change, but we were anticipating a year of expansion and growth not furloughs and a new concept of social distancing. As things continue to change around us at a rapid pace, we hope you can find comfort in knowing that TDC is ready and willing to help you in any capacity that we can.

For our tenants, and other businesses in the region who have been impacted by COVID-19, we have compiled a list of resources on our website to help. HERE you will find links to each of the various programs supported by the local, state, and federal governments. If you need help finding additional resources specific to you and your business, or need assistance in understanding various legislation and or policies, we are more than willing to help point you in the right direction. We encourage our tenants to submit their inquiries via this form.

TDC staff has been, and will continue to work remotely so long as it is in the best interest of our employees. With the help of technology, we were able to make a seamless transition from our office to each of our home workstations (learn more about our work from home experience here). You can still reach us over the phone (518-563-3100) or email. This allows us to continue our work with current and prospective tenants while adhering to government mandates. We have temporarily suspended all in person Board meetings including our General Board meetings. However, TDC Board members continue to be engaged in committee meetings conducted through use of video conferencing. We are currently working on a solution to interact with the full Board without putting members in jeopardy. With so much going on we are very appreciative to all our Board members’ efforts to stay engaged in TDC business and support of our tenants.

Finally, we wish all of you to remain safe during this difficult time. If we continue to be smart about how we interact with one another, apply patience and ingenuity to the way we work, and remain optimistic, we will come out the other side of this pandemic stronger than we were before.
