The mission of our organization is to “create and retain quality jobs and investments in our community”. For 60 years, we have been carrying out this mission by working to attract industry to the region and helping them establish a footprint in northern NY. Aside from supplying premier industrial properties for lease, we have also taken an interest in supporting businesses in Clinton County by aiding in workforce development. We understand that the workforce is a vital part of the success of an organization and want to help businesses retain and invest in their employees.
Over the years we have taken a variety of different approaches to supporting the education and development of our workforce. From investing in scholarships and STEM related programming, to business competitions and career exploration initiatives. Prior to the pandemic, we hit the ground running in 2020 trying to best support the then current needs of our tenant businesses. There has been a shift in the needs of our employers amidst the pandemic, but our dedication to supporting workforce remains the same. We look forward to continuing to work with our tenants to support their workforce needs the best that we can as we all navigate our way back to the ‘new normal’.
As a stopgap and to continue to assist our community the best that we can, we are excited to be supporting our workforce through a new grant program. We are committing to funding up to $15,000 to underwrite employee training and STEM career exploration. The application is open to anyone who meets the minimal requirements found on the brief application. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis and projects will be funded until the award funds are fully exhausted.
