It’s hard to believe the end of the year is quickly approaching. The year had many things to be thankful for in the North Country and at TDC. I am especially proud of how TDC and the park tenants came together as a community. Our very own Brittany Varin organized the “Park Perks” program designed to encourage tenants to take a minute to celebrate our togetherness by lunching together. As any of you that attended one of the monthly luncheons you had a chance to taste some of the areas best food truck offerings and get to know your neighbors. We are hopeful that this is just the start of a yearly program.
Speaking about neighbors, the construction of the long awaited expansion into the old County Airport has finally commenced with a completion date in mid-2024. This new roadway sponsored by Clinton County, The Town of Plattsburgh, and TDC will provide shovel ready space for new businesses in the County and creation of new jobs.
Business was strong in 2023 at TDC. TDC is nearing the completion of our new 60,000 sf facility in our Banker Road Industrial Park on Tom Miller Road. We are very excited to have Medisca as the tenant and contributing to the fit out of the facility for their manufacturing and shipping operations.
TDC continues to put a strong emphasis on education, workforce and economic development. Dani King has been instrumental in shaping the minds of our next generation. She planned a 10th grade manufacturing field trip to our local manufacturers in partnership with Clinton Community College and CFES Brilliant Pathways that drew over 100 local students, and participated in several educational events throughout the year.
TDC launched a Ground Breakers Campaign to feature employees who are thriving at local businesses. If you get a chance go to our web page to watch any of the videos and see these amazing people working right here in the North Country.
As you drive around our Park you will probably notice all the new signs. We completed the installation of our monument signs throughout the Park. Hopefully you recognize us as you drive by!
Finally, as for staff we all continue to look to 2024 and the future with great hope. A couple changes occurred this year. We promoted Dani King to Vice President of the organization. And we said good bye to Brittany Varin our Digital Marketing Specialist as she decided to explore other avenues. We are all thankful for your support and the fine work of our tenant Businesses in making Clinton County a great place to work, live, and play, Happy Holidays!
