Johanna Weeks is currently an undergraduate student attending SUNY Plattsburgh, studying journalism and public relations. Entering her last semester of undergraduate school, Johanna is excited to be taking on an internship with TDC NNY to gain hands-on, practical work experience. The town of Plattsburgh is where she grew out of her shell; she learned to take initiative, be independent, and to put time and effort into figuring out her own lifestyle. Johanna grew up in a small town about 200 miles south of Plattsburgh called Saugerties.
In her free time, Johanna enjoys running, hanging out at local coffee shops, and spending time with her friends and family. She also enjoys spending time outdoors, going on hikes, and soaking up the rays of sun. She can often be found dancing or singing along to her self-proclaimed top-tier playlists which include her favorite genres - pop, indie as well as R&B.
As her college graduation gets closer, she has been staying busy and investing in experiences to benefit her future career. This past summer, she spent her time at The Glimmerglass Festival as a communications apprentice working alongside two other college students. This current fall semester, she is the President of Her Campus, an online lifestyle magazine for college women and she is the Managing Editor of the school’s tourism magazine, Due North.
In the future, Johanna hopes to solo-travel and explore different cultures outside of the country.
